Safeguarding and Attendance Officer (L6)

32.5 hours per week (8.30 a.m.– 4.00 p.m. term time only)

L6 (£19,185 – £21,818 pro-rata salary)

The Governing Body of Hillborough Infant and Nursery School is seeking to appoint a Safeguarding and Attendance Officer.  We are seeking applications from committed, experienced and knowledgeable candidates.  

 

Hillborough Infant School provides an education to 3 to 7 year olds in the south of Luton, close to the town centre. We are an oversubscribed and successful three form entry infant school admitting 90 pupils per year. We are well-resourced and keep children at the centre of everything we do. 
 

The Safeguarding and Attendance Officer, under the direction of the Head Teacher, will support identified pupils and their families to facilitate them to overcome barriers to learning and progress, both within and outside of school. The post-holder will organise and promote externally-led family learning opportunities and relevant training. The Safeguarding and Attendance Officer will liaise closely with teaching and learning staff and spend considerable time developing positive relationships with families and the wider school community.

 

The role involves an element of family and community engagement to increase participation at learning-centred school events, including curriculum workshops and parent and carer consultations and the post holder will, therefore, be required to attend several after-school events throughout the academic year.

 

The post holder will support the Head Teacher in the management and implementation of all safeguarding and child protection policies, procedures and guidelines and act as the school’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. The post holder will be required to represent the school confidently at child protection and other professional multi-agency meetings.

 

The role will involve administering all processes related to pupil attendance, including the analysis of data, working with senior leaders to ensure appropriate support, challenge and intervention is provided to families to ensure attendance targets are met and maintaining attendance improvement records in line with school policy.

Class Teacher (EYFS/Key Stage One)

The Governing Body of Hillborough Infant and Nursery School is seeking to appoint a Class Teacher and are seeking applications from committed, experienced and knowledgeable candidates.  
 

Are you a talented and ambitious Early Years/Key Stage One teacher looking for the next step in your career?  If yes, then Hillborough Infant and Nursery School may have just the challenge for you.

The Headteacher is looking to further strengthen the team with the addition of an inspiring classroom teacher. This is an ideal role for an experienced teacher who enjoys making a positive contribution to the whole school with the support of an experienced and supportive team.

 

The successful candidate will be someone who:

  • Is an outstanding EYFS/Key Stage 1 practitioner who has a proven track record of having a positive impact on pupil outcomes;
  • Has high aspirations for all pupil’s achievement and behaviour;
